| ARTICHOKES GALLERY ARTFUL AUCTION Exhibit & auction to be held for Head for the Cure Foundation. The exhibit and auction "Head for the Art" is from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at ARTichokes Gallery at 107th and Mission Road. There is no admission charge. All proceeds from sales go to the Head for the Cure Foundation to help find cures for brain cancer. The group exhibition features 34 local artists, each showing one piece. The show features paintings, pottery, sculpture, mixed media, hand-made jewelry and photographs. The painters include Anne Garney whose work usually features landmarks and neighborhoods in Kansas City (www.annegarneypaintings.com); Rebecca Pashia, one of the founders of ARTichokes and owner of Motif, which does custom oil paintings for unique interiors (www.designbymotif.com); and Mike Savage, owner of Sav-Art and a former Plaza Art Fair featured artist (www.sav-art.com).
