Johne Richardson

Johne Richardson is an artist and photographer from Overland Park, Kansas. He’s been illustrating professionally for over 27 years, but has been moving more towards making paintings and taking pictures.  He works in pencil, watercolor, and gouache, and has a passion for landscapes and the figure, particularly cowboys and historical figures. He’s also been known to dabble in abstracts on occasion.

Johne is a signature member of the Kansas Watercolor Society, and in 2009 won Best of Show from PaintAmerica, a national exhibition, for the painting Shadow Upon the Land.  He loves to explore light and emotion in his art, is captivated by the painted mark, and draws his inspiration mostly from out of doors - everywhere from prairie to mountain to seashore.
