I studied art and art education at Southern Illinois University and art therapy at Lindenwood College. After pursuing a career in art therapy for many years I was given an opportunity in 2001 to begin working full time as an artist. At that time I returned to my interest in ceramics. Since then I have had my pottery in various regional art fairs and galleries. Nature has always been a source of inspiration for me and my work has been substantially influenced by textures and forms found in the natural environment. My pots, in particular, have been explorations of the design elements in plants and river rocks. By stretching the clay I am trying to express the dynamic, organic and transient quality of these forms. |
