About the Artist

Carolyn (Carrie) has been taking pictures since her high school years in 4-H and has worked as a journalist and photographer since college. Both film and digital are used in her work and little or nothing is done to change what the camera captured at any one moment in time. Scenes in her pictures come from anywhere she can take her camera.

“The Nature of God” line shows the wonders of creation whether in nature or by what the human hand creates. These photos, when combined with scripture in some of her pieces, reveal the attributes of God, giving the theme a double meaning.

Carrie lives in De Soto, Kansas with her husband Kent and sons Jake, Chris and Joe, who are all very supportive, and have become used to hearing her say at any time, “Wait a minute! I need to get a picture of this!”

Her work has been displayed at Homer’s Coffee House in Overland Park, and has appeared in the Trinity Lutheran Art Show and De Soto Art Show. Besides the current exhibit at ARTichokes, it will also be featured at the Bleu Tomato Gallery and Eatery in De Soto in June and Imago Dei Arts Center, Kansas City, Kansas in the fall.
