I love color and have wanted to draw and paint since I was young.  Each day, as I walk into my studio and view the beautiful array of colors on my palette, I feel like a child again with a new box of crayons.

I waited a long time before being able to express the inner artist on canvas and paper, having pursued two earlier careers, one in teaching, the second in the financial and administrative field.  The French Impressionists were my inspiration and I painted in oil for a few years. but an opportunity for a class in watercolor set me on a journey toward what is now my passion.  I soon learned this medium can be bright and bold, full of light, and found it expressed an inner child who always wanted to "play with happy colors".

My subjects cover a wide range: florals, animals, seascapes, landscapes and currently, cityscapes, with an emphasis on the historic buildings in the downtown Kansas City and Plaza districts.
