I was born and raised in rural Kansas.  After college, I worked as a teacher and later as a lawyer.  Despite a life long passion for drawing, I had not painted until I was a young adult.  It has been a great blessing in my life that I now can pursue this passion as a full time vocation.  I have learned from great teachers in Kansas City including Robert Vaughn, Charles Stegner, and Phil Starke, as well as my many artist friends.  I work in my studio in Roeland Park.

Like most artists, I am constantly trying to analyze and reframe the world I see and feel.  My ego and desire drive me to make a public statement about this process.  My internal visions are on public display when I am in an exhibit. . . .which is an uncomfortable, but necessary exposure.  I paint. . . .you look.  I hope you like my work, but the pleasure is mostly mine. . .
